CIEL Insights Member only Webinar – ‘Alternatives to Antibiotics’
Focus of the webinar
The UK has made considerable progress in reducing the use of antibiotics across livestock sectors. This was recently illustrated in the FAO report, ‘Tackling antimicrobial use and resistance in food-producing animals – lessons learned in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland’. The focus remains on the need to reduce the need to use antibiotics and to use ‘as little as possible, as much as necessary’. Innovative research and development is tackling the challenge of long-term sustainable use of antibiotics, and developing alternatives to antibiotics.
This CIEL Insights Webinar showcases innovative examples from bacteriophages to vaccines and natural peptides.
We have three speakers lined up:
- Dr Adriano Gigante Research Fellow University of Nottingham
Bacteriophages in livestock and aquaculture
